
Ana Cecilia Amado Xavier de Oliveira graduated in Medicine in 1977, took a master´s degree in
Cellular and Molecular Biology (Biochemistry, 1996) and a PhD degree in Cellular and
Molecular Biology (Immunopharmacology) in 2008. In 2009, she received a scholarship to
pursue a postdoctoral internship at the University of Eastern Finland working in the project “The
modulation of human and mouse CYP2A isoforms by LPS: potential role of nuclear receptors”.
For the last 15 years, the main researcher´s goal has been the investigation of liver Cytochrome
P450 2A5/2A6 regulation in infectious diseases and inflammation in mice and human cell
cultures.
